Trang is a magnificent coastal province with a long, beautiful shoreline that stretches 199 kilometres along the Andaman sea. In addition, the province has two major Rivers flowing through it, the Trang River, which originates in the Khao Luang mountain Range, and Maenam Palian, which flows from the Banthat Mountain Range.

Starting from the City centre, Phraya Ratsada Nu Pradit Mahisara Phakdi museum, located about 200 meters from Kantang Municipality. The building is the former home of the governor of Trang. Don’t miss to check out the first rubber tree in Thailand is located along a road to Kantang district. Ban Na Muen Sri is a subdistrict in Na Yong district. It is famous for its Local hand-woven Cloth. There is a weaving Group established with the aim to preserve the Local wisdom of this special unique designs and patterns.

Hat Yao (Long Beach) is a long sandy beach with lines of sea pines spread along the Beach. Hat Yao Pier is a major ferry port that tourists can catch ferries to Trang’s Islands.

Koh Libong is the largest Island in Trang sea. Around the Island are masses of seagrass field that is Food for dugongs. The dugong is classified as vulnerable to extinction mammals but can still be seen around Koh Libong. Koh Muk and Morakot Cave are the most prominent tourist attractions in Trang Sea. Koh Muk is famous for the Island’s pristine sandy Beaches and Tham Morakot or Morakot Cave which gets its name from the emerald water inside the cave. Koh Chueak – Koh Waen are popular spots for scuba diving and snorkeling with amazingly colorful shallow and deep water corals.

Koh Sukon is the second largest Island in Trang, only 3 kilometres from shore. There are over 2,500 villagers living on the Island.

Tham Le Khao Kob is one of Unseen Thailand in Trang. The Cave has magnificent layers of rocks and stalactites and stalagmites inside. Visitors have to paddle a Boat to enter the Cave and there is a highlight point when the ceiling of the cave is getting so low that everybody on the boat has to lie down to get past. That area is known as “going under the dragon’s belly.”

Travel Tips

– The best time to visit Trang is between December and May. High and low seasons aren’t clearly defined; some resorts are closed into the early high season (mid-November), while others start charging high season rates as early as October.

– Before visiting Tham Le Khao Kop, make sure that you are not a claustrophobic since you have to Travel through a very narrow passage through the Cave tunnel before you reach an end to the exit.

– Do not touch the water drop on the tip of a growing stalactite because the grease on our fingers will interrupt the growth of stalactite.

– Even though Boat operators already have torches provided, it is recommended to have your own waterproof head torch when you make a Trip into a Cave.

– Bring along a waterproof bag or pocket every time when you go on a Beach Trip. It is useful for protecting your valuable belongings during your kayak Boat Trip.

– Do not forget to bring a high SPF sunscreen, a hat and a pair of sunglasses.
